Italian Doughnuts! Bomboloni are large and rich yeasted doughnuts filled with a whipped salted caramel roasted local apples and mascarpone cream. Tossed in a spiced sugar, our bomboloni are made in the Northern Italian style from Fruili Venezia Guilia.
History says that these light and airy doughnuts when made with eggs found there way to Italy while this northern region was occupied by Austria. Their name originated from the Italian word "bomba" meaning bombs.
